Film Shooting at Best Western Plus Hotel Meteor Plaza in Prague

The Best Western Plus Hotel Meteor Plaza became a film set: For the new German crime TV series “Der Prag-Krimi” the four-star hotel in Prague temporarily turned into “Hotel Royal”. The series by the German TV channel ARD will be broadcasted in 2018.

Prague, January 5^th 2018. Film shooting inside the hotel: The Best Western Plus Hotel Meteor Plaza has turned into a film set for the new German TV series “Der Prag-Krimi” by the broadcaster ARD. In December, the first two films have been made by Schiwago Film on behalf of ARD. One scene of the crime thriller “Der Prag-Krimi – Der kalte Tod” plays inside the four-star hotel in the center of Prague, which is called “Hotel Royal” in the movie. Famous TV actors met at the set: The German and Czech team of police inspectors, played by Gabriela Maria Schmeide and Roeland Wiesnekker, are investigating in the lobby and spying on one of the prime suspects. The crime series will be broadcasted in 2018.

Hotel with a rich tradition in the heart of Prague

The traditional Best Western Plus Hotel Meteor Plaza was built around 1300 and originally called White Lion. It is located in the centre of the "Golden City". Due to its location guests can reach the most famous sights in just a few minutes: the Hybernia Palace, the Prague Powder Tower, the Art Nouveau town hall, Wenceslas Square, the Old Town and the legendary royal route. The four-star hotel has 85 rooms and four suites as well as conference facilities for around 80 participants. The restaurant “Silenzio” in the Gothic wine cellar offers Czech and international cuisine as well as excellent wines, which can also be enjoyed on the terrace. Whirlpool and sauna complete the relaxation possibilities.
