BW Premier Collection: Berghotel Rehlegg, Ramsau/Berchtesgaden

Berghotel Rehlegg Joins Soft Brand BW Premier Collection

The four-star resort hotel Berghotel Rehlegg in Ramsau near Berchtesgaden has joined the exclusive BW Premier Collection. The BW Premier Collection is a new soft brand by Best Western Hotels & Resorts, which presents and markets extraordinary hotels in urban destinations and holiday regions. The family-run resort hotel in the Alps with a view on the famous mountain Watzmann ideally complements the new collection of exclusive private hotels.

Eschborn / Ramsau-Berchtesgaden, November 6th 2017. After extensive renovations of the hotel the family-run Berghotel Rehlegg in Ramsau near Berchtesgaden has joined the new BW Premier Collection in order to present itself even more strongly as an exclusive and individual hotel on the market. The BW Premier Collection is a new soft brand solution by Best Western Hotels & Resorts and a marketing offer for exclusive hotels at top locations in holiday and urban destinations. Under the umbrella of this collection, exceptional private hotels are presented and benefit from Best Western's range of marketing and sales services without taking over the full branding. “Our family hotel has become an exquisite resort hotel of the highest quality within the recent years. The new BW Premier Collection is a perfect fit for us. We have been a partner of Best Western for many years and are happy about the new soft brand offer. Our hotel focuses on individuality, that is why the BW Premier Collection provides the perfect framework and ideal marketing opportunities," explains Franz Lichtmannegger, owner of the 87-room hotel. There are currently around 80 hotels worldwide that belong to the exclusive BW Premier Collection. Beside the new BW premier Collection hotel in Ramsau, two more hotels have joined in Austria and Germany: The Harmonie Vienna in Austria, and the V8 Hotel Superior Motorworld Region Stuttgart in Boeblingen in Germany.

Tradition and innovation in the Alps

Magnificent nature, family friendliness and a perfect liaison of Bavarian tradition and innovation characterise Berghotel Rehlegg. The alpine holiday home in the heart of the National Park with a breathtaking view on the Watzmann is packed with traditions and family stories. Today, the hotel is run by the third generation and looks back on an eventful development and history. The Lichtmannegger family has owned the hotel, which was first mentioned already in 1454, since 1917. Since 2000, Johannes and Franz Lichtmannegger have been running the Best Western Berghotel Rehlegg in the third generation, and have ever since been shaping the face of the hotel and consistently been expanding the hotel's range of services. Almost completely surrounded by the Berchtesgaden Alps, 87 regionally furnished rooms and suites await the guests. The four-star superior hotel's oasis of well-being offers numerous relaxation possibilities.

Hotel with positive CO2 footprint

The topic of sustainability is a corporate principle at Berghotel Rehlegg: The hotel was certified climate-positive in October 2017 by Viabono, an organisation for sustainability certifications in Germany. The hotel is thus playing a pioneering role in Bavaria: It is the first hotel in the region to leave a positive CO2 footprint and bind ten percent more carbon dioxide than it emits. The hotel also carries the DEHOGA Gold Eco-label for environmentally and climate-friendly tourism. “Environmental and climate protection have been a major concern for us for a long time. But being climate-neutral was no longer enough for us. With further measures, we have taken the step of becoming a climate-positive hotel. We are now absorbing more CO2 than we emit. This is a sign of more sustainability in the hotel industry," says Lichtmannegger proudly.
