Best Western Goes Cruising: A Short Getaway Before The Cruise

Cruise passengers can combine their vacation on the water with a short stay in a port city: Selected Best Western hotels located in German port cities offer lodging for a short trip before or after a cruise.

Eschborn/Germany, May 30th, 2016. Cruise popularity remains strong: Every year, large numbers of vacationers decide to go by boat on their journeys across the world’s oceans and into foreign lands. To make sure they get a relaxed start to their cruises, selected Best Western hotels in German port cities are offering lodgings to meet the needs of travelers who arrive early at their departure locations: They can arrive a day early, relax, stroll through the port and enjoy the city flair – then board the cruise ship the next day with no stress and no rush.

Best Western hotels are located at many cruise ports of call and departure locations throughout Germany, including Bremerhaven, Hamburg, and Rostock-Warnemuende. The best available rates for booking overnight stays the day before a cruise in participating hotels are available at the German website www.bestwestern.de/kreuzfahrt.

Bremerhaven offers guests and vacationers enjoying a short stay before the big trip an exciting interplay of contracts. In the old fishing port at the mouth of the Weser, in surroundings that reflect the city's cultural heritage, new steel meets ancient wood, and the glittering water ebbs and flows near spacious glass facades flooded with light. The designer hotel Best Western Plus Hotel Bremerhaven, with 94 rooms, reflects the flair of the big city. From the breakfast room, guests can overlook the port area and all of its attractions. The hotel's patio area is located directly over the water, inviting travelers to enjoy their time and relax. A bar and a fitness area with sauna make the four-star hotel an ideal starting point for cruise passengers as well. Many different cruise ships from all over the world call at the seaside city, including Phoenix Reisen, TUI Cruises with Mein Schiff, Transocean Kreuzfahrten, and Silversea Cruises.

Around 10,000 ships call at the Port of Hamburg each year, making it one of the busiest universal ports in the world, and the third-largest container port in Europe. Cruises from AIDA, Europa, and MSC, for instance, start here and travel in all directions. With the Best Western Premier Alsterkrug Hotel, the Best Western Plus Hotel St. Raphael, and the Best Western Raphael Hotel Altona, passengers have multiple lodgings to choose from either before or after their cruises.

Cruises are also a national and international trademark for the port city of Rostock. AIDA, Costa, MSC, NCL, and other shipping companies start their journeys across all the world’s oceans there. The Best Western Hanse Hotel Warnemuende in Rostock-Warnemuende offers cruise ship passengers an outstanding lodging option on the Baltic Sea. With 72 rooms and suites, and a breakfast restaurant with a view of the Baltic, passengers can enjoy a taste of the vacation atmosphere, even before their journeys start.

Additional information, and an overview of participating Best Western hotels with the day's updated and best available overnight lodging rates is available online at www.bestwestern.de/kreuzfahrt (in German).
